What I do to remove gasket.

1) Use a pick or small screwdriver put in the spring at the bottom pry it out of the gasket. Spring and wire clamp will come out.

2) pull rubber gasket off the front of the washer.. fold it inside out into the tub.

3) Use a pick or small screwdriver put in the spring at the bottom pry it out of the gasket. Spring and wire clamp will come out inside of gasket.

4) pull rubber gasket off the outer tub.

To install the new gasket.

1) heat the gasket in a dryer

2) Start at the top. Take the top of the gasket insert it into the lip of the outer tub. work your way around the outer tub until you get it in all the way around..

(if your fingers are too big you may have to remove the front bricks)

3)fold the gasket into the tub inside out.

4)take the wire with spring start at the top ( use the shark clamp to open the spring) slide the wire and spring around gasket and outer tub. release shark clamp

5)Pull gasket out of tub. insert fill hose or spray hose or light if you have them.

6) start at the top insert the gasket to washer front lip. work your way around the front.

7)take the wire with spring start at the top (use the shark clamp to open the spring) slide the wire and spring around gasket and outer tub. release shark clamp

Remove the front panel and also the hose going into the small electric pump you’ll find right in front. If something is blocking the flow, it’s likely there. Other than that, the outlet from the tub may be gunked up. In this case, fill the washer on the lowest level with very hot water, add a cup of powdered dishwasher detergent and let it circulate a few minutes, then set the timer to drain.

tip: Never use drain cleaner in a washer..it will ruin the seals.

LG had a different repair company sent to check the dryer. Turns out the bracket holding the motor was vibrating against the bottom of the dryer. The tech wedged some foam between and it took care of the sound. Dryer runs very quiet now.

GLTF2940FS Frigidaire Front Load Washer

This washer is just over a year old. It started turning off in the middle of the load. The display would also go out. After waiting about 15-20 minutes you could start the washer again.

I had to replace the control board to repair this washer.

Manufacturer part number 137006000

Mission complete & Mama’s happy again – just stopped back to say, THANKS

I did not make clear, this was a DIY job

I did not spend the extra $80 and replace the rollers but did oil them & the tensioner – good tip

Based on all the lint build-up that was cleaned from the inside of the unit & vent, I set a clean schedule every 3 years. WOW, what a fire hazzard.

Thanks again, Boys

The new MCU did the trick. The washer is working! My thanks to Repair-man and JWWebster for their help.

Here are some pics of the old MCU showing some electrical damage. From now on all my expensive electrical components will be used with decent quality surge suppression, etc. I mean, these things are as expensive as a HDTV, might as well give them appropriate protection.
